A week in the life of Mateo

School starts next week for Mateo.  I am excited and nervous.  He LOVED preschool so much last year, but he was younger, most of his peers were younger.  Now he will be with 4 to 5 year olds. How will it go? Will he be teased? Will the kids like him? I worry. I always worry.

And I have been trying to figure out his schedule, how will we fit everything in and still run a business? I have no clue, but let me share with you a week in the life of  Teo.

Monday – 9am- 9:30am Speech Therapy
9:45am – 12:30pm -ABA Home Program
1:00pm – 3:30pm – Preschool

Tuesday – 9am – 9:45am – Gymnastics
10:00am-12:00pm – ABA Home Program
1:00pm-3:30pm Preschool

Wednesday – 9:00am – 11:00am ABA Home Program
1:00pm-3:00pm – Preschool
3:30 – 5:00pm – Social Skills Group

Thursday – 8:30am – 10:30am ABA Home Program
11:00am – 11:45am – Occupational Therapy
1:00-3:30pm – Preschool

Friday – 9:00am – 12:00pm ABA Home Program
1:00-3:30pm – Preschool

Finally on Friday he gets a break.  WHEW! Just writing it was tiring! He is an amazing kid, I know he can do it.  And the results are amazing. His graph from where he has come in a year, is incredible.  When he was first evaluated at around 3 some of his skill levels were as low as 13 months. Now most are all the way up to 48 months and approaching age appropriate.  Language is still the biggest barrier- but he’s talking more and more all the time.  So the schedule may seem like a lot, but it works.  And I bet Mateo will have the best work ethic of anyone because he’s worked so hard to come this far!

Wow! That’s quite a schedule… We can’t wait to see you guys again and don’t forget, there are going to be many of the same kids. Everyone loves Mateo.

Thanks Lara! He loves Peter and Joey and ALL of the girls in class. I know he will have a blast. I can’t wait to see everyone too!

I’m glad to see he has friday off. And that you’re not doing a 40 hour program. 40 hours is way too much and contributes to anxiety (yours AND his).
